how to allow specific senders to send email to distribution groups from outside exchange organization
Hi
I have a mail enabled distribution group which I wish to control which senders are allowed to send emails to. These allowed senders need to be both from inside organization and outside. So I created another security group with some users in it and configured
the limited group to accept only messages from members of this security group. "Require all senders are authenticated" setting is un-checked.
To allow the distribution group to accept message from some external users, I created a few contacts in active directory and added them to the security group. But I still cannot send email from those external addreses and all messages are rejected with the
Your message can't be delivered because delivery to this address is restricted. message.
question is, how can I instruct exchange to accept email to this distribution group from some specific external addresses?

by default it will not accepting from external address :)
u have to uncheck to not authenticate, u can do it from EMC / EMS , here's one example : http://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/05/18/distribution-list-not-getting-mails-from-outside-ndr-511/Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. You have to use a rule to do this. You cannot use contacts.
The group needs to be set to allow anyone to send to it, then use a Transport Rule to block and allow people to send email to the list.
