HI, 

I have few distribution list and now we don't need those Distribution lists anymore, so i am planning to hide them from GAL. But i want the email from those distribution list. So i want to get back up those mails and delete the distribution list from the Exchange server. 

How do i do this??

say i have a mail distribution list call salesAus@domain.com.au and it got attached with three members. now i want to get back up the salesAus@domain.com.au and then hide that from Distribution list, say delete that from distribution list,

To save a Distribution List and the emails, I recommend you save them to pst files.

When you finished the backup successfully, you can hide the distribution list using the following cmdlet: Set-DistributionGroup -Id "xx" -HideFromAddressListsEnabled:$true
