Please help, is there a way to import an excel file that has the email addresses to the GAL or is there any other way beside we have to use the MIIS for the GAL Sync?

Sure, its pretty simple - lay your addresses out according to the following example then save as a CSV and import into A/D using csvde. kb327620
Table:
objectClass
DN
displayName
mailNickname
targetAddress
contact
cn=Sample User, ou=Organisation Unit, dc=Domain, dc=SUFFIX
Sample User
user.s
SMTP:user.s@externaldomain.com
This is the minimum amount of information required to create a mail enabled contact in Windows 2003 A/D & Exchange environment.
If you want you can drop me a mail n I will send you the xls file I use to import contacts into AD. Save you lots of time.

Hi Garry,
I have emailed you the file - a word of advice, perhaps it is a good idea to edit the previous entry & remove your email add sometime soon.
Let me know how you get on. I also have one for Exchange Server 2007, in case you need it.

Hi Petrus,
I can give you a script for Exchange 2007 which will update existing users but since the one I have for 2003 is based on csvde & csv files, it cannot be used to update existing objects, only create new ones.
To update objects you need to make aldif file & import the data using ldifde.
the urls below are pretty comprehensive though.

or if you have Exch 2k7 in your organization, just let me know & il send the script accross.

Hi Josh,
I have actually posted the files on my blog:Exchange 2003 Contacts UploadExchange 2007 Contacts UploadIt just seemed so much easier that way than to keep having to mail it out and people posting their email ID's on this forum.
