I've heard that if .ost file is corrupted, it might be effective to convert .ost to .pst file.
Is it true, if yes, would anyone suggest tool for conversion?
thanks in advance!
hi,
why not create another profile? the *.ost is just for temporary store, isn't it?

No need to create a new profile. If any .ost file is simply renamed or deleted, Outlook will re-create it.
The one thing to keep in mind are .ost files created for OL'2013 IMAP email accounts which contain folders that include the words "This Computer Only" which contain data local to that computer (not sync'd to any server). That data needs to be backed up first by exporting the folders to a PST file using the Outlook export wizard (unless there is a strong desire to waste money on purchasing a 3rd party OST2PST conversion program purely for that purpose).
- Open Microsoft Email client
- In File Menu -> Open Import Export Wizard
- Choose Export a File
- Select OST files to Convert
- Choose Target Folder to save converted PST file.
However, to get this job done more quickly with no data loss, then its best to use an automated solution like http://www.exchangeserverrecovery.com/ that allows to restore OST files to a Live Server or convert them to new PSTs or add to existing PSTs
Yes, it is true. As per my analysis, using third party tool for OST to PST Conversion this difficulty can be fixing. OST Converter is recommended utility to convert .ost to .pst file. Check it- http://www.convertosttopst.importostfiles.net/
