Hi Difladermaus,
Do you mind telling us where did you download the trial version of Visio 2013 pro? As far as I know, the functions of the trial edition has no difference with official edition. Please make sure you have download from this site:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-visio-professional-2013
Then, once we have created or edited a workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013, you can export the workflow as a Visio drawing that can be opened directly in Visio Professional 2013. Please try to follow the steps to open VWI file via Visio 2013:
- In SharePoint Designer 2013, click Workflows in the Navigation pane.
-
On the Workflow tab, in the Manage group, click Export to Visio.
-
In the Export Workflow to Visio Drawing dialog box, name the file, select a location, and then click Save. The exported file is saved as a .vwi file that can be opened directly in Visio Professional 2013.

Was from Microsoft site that I downloaded 32bit version.
Tried again this morning. After I create new MS SP 2013 Workflow, I go to Process tab and click Import and nothing happens.

Hi,
I have re-tested this issue with both of the trial and retail version with a clean environment, the SharePoint 2013 Workflow template might be broken.
Please try to use SharePoint 2010 Workflow template. (It worked)
This is an unknown issue in Visio. We will report this issue to MS via an internal way, then to check if this is a bug
Thank you for finding this issue.
