inetinfo cpu usage
Hello all i have a problem with inetinfo.exe. This is sitting on 60-80% CPU usage for the last few days now and when it gets to this stage the SMTP service seems to stop or hang so there will be no incoming or out going email. Also the internal website stops
working and you can no longer send or receive faxes. There is nothing in the event viewer of any use to help me find the problem.
We have SBS2003 with the exchange 2003 and SP2 installed.
The only way to get the services working again is to end the process in the task manager. I have to do this at least 3 times a day just to keep the office up and running
I have searched the net for a few days now with no luck.
Can anyone help me on this?

Hello GNS Supplies,
Do the following the steps :--
After the production hours,
1) If possible then
Stop the SMTP service and Rename the mailroot folder. And restart the SMTP service.
2) If there is any Third party Anti Virus software is installed on the Exchange server, then check whether all the Exchange related folder are excluded
or not.
If possible then Uninstall the Third party Anti Virus software for the server for troubleshooting & reboot the server. After
monitoring the server for few minutes or hours you can install the Third party Anti Virus software on the server.
After doing these steps your issue will be resolved.

Do you have an Exchange-aware antivirus? If so, try disabling or removing it and see if the problem goes away. Otherwise,
I recommend that you post your question in an SBS forum. There are so many things going on in an SBS server that it'd be presumptuous to presume that your problem is Exchange-related.

Have you tried running Exchange Best Practice Analyzer on it? Also do you have any 3rd party applications running that do things to mail or smtp? I'd start with disabling those at first and restarting the services.

Hi,
Please disable all third party software in the server and test the issue again. I also suggest you install all latest updates for your SBS server.
As Ed mentioned, there is many services running in the SBS server, according to your current description, we could not confirm this is an Exchange issue. Please also
write the post in our SBS newsgroup to see if someone can help:
