installing MS Exchange 2003 system manager
i am installing the blackberry server, which requires that the exchange system manager be installed on the same machine. So here is the problem.i need to install the exchange system manager, and when i attempt to do so, i run into two seperate problems. If i am logged in to the server where i want to install the ESM, i get a error that says something to the effect that i am not logged onto the domain, and if i log on to the domain i get a message that says i do not have permission to install it on this computer. When i log on as a user to the domain i am asked for permission to the administrator accouont, but that still does not work. Confused and need help. THANKS.randy

To get ESM installed on the BES server make sure the server is connected to the same network as the DC. If you are putting your BES in a DMZ or on the internet, connect it to the private network momentarily to install ESM. Log in the server with local admin account and install the exchange system tools only. don't forget to run the sp install as well. once it is installed put it back in the DMZ or where ever it will end up and install BES

To install ESM you must also have IIS and SMTP installed. After ESM is installed you can disable SMTP and world wide web service.

Dont forget Exchange 2003 SP2 afterwards, it also updates ESM, especially PF management is better in SP2
