I have sql 2005 on windows 2003 server, i created a linked server to a second server with the same credentials, i was able to connect just fine. When i try to open management studio on my windows xp cpu, i can access the linked server i created but get an authentication error while trying to connect to the 2nd sql server (linked server). any ideas?OLE DB PROVIDER 'MSDASQL' REPORTED AN ERROR AUTHENTICATION FAILED.
