local server relay setup
I have a new Exchange 2007 Server setup and ready to go. Everything is working fine but I need to make sure our local servers can send mail through the exchange server. Much of the traffic is from server management applications that email an internal user to let them know there is a problem. Then thereare our web servers that need to be able to email our customers with invoices, quotes, etc. I am trying to find the best way to do this. I did find the article below: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/12/28/432013.aspx The question I have is, is this the best way to do what I am looking to do or is there anyother way that is better? If this is the best way should I setup the what is referred to as Option 2 in the article for the servers that will only email internally and setup Option 1 for the servers that will email both internally and externally. Or is that an overkill and I should just enable Option 1 for the servers needed? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer me.
