lock idle sessions
I am trying to setup a 2008 Server. I would like it to lock (or log off) users who are idle. What is the best way to achive this? Is there a way I can set it up so the users sessions lock after afew minutesand then log them off after a few hours? It is Server2008 and the clients are Vista Business.

I think I found what I was looking for. In Group Policy I can set "Microsoft Network Server: Amount of idle time required before suspending session." It is in "Computer Configuration/Polices/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options." I can not seem to get it to actully take effect. I have made a few other changes in the same section and set this GPO to the users I need it on. The other changes like "Message Text" and"Message Title"seem to work, just not "idle time". Any ideas? Thanks Edit: I just set the GPO to "turn off tabbed browsing." That also worked. I havetried setting itto lock idle sessions at 1,2,5 and 15minutes, still no luck. Edit2: Is it inheriting the default setting of "no time out?" I thought I saw somewere that when you install AD it changes from 15 minutes to nothing. For testing I have changed and enforced the "Default Domain Policy" for "everyone" and the users I want it on. I have also tried creating a new test GPO, it did not work either.

I found half of it. In "user configuration" I did show all and found screen saver. I will just set login times to force log off. Thanks
