Seems like this is a big issue. I am running windows 2008 and Exchange 2007 SP2. I am temporarily using NTBackup. I select full backups to truncate the logs but this does not seem to be happening. I still have about 2 months of logs. Is there a problem with this version of Exchange and NTBackup? I plan to move to a 3rd party backup solution soon. If the meantime is there a way I can clear out some of my logs? How far back can I go.Thanks

Noman,I think you mean Windows Server Backup. Normally if doing a full backup the logs will be cleared. Can you please check the following things:- which events are logged during and after the backup ?- when getting the properties of the storage group/database is the value of last full backup updated ?Regards,Johanblog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

Thanks. I may have been doing a custome and not a full backup. I will try that tonight. Also is there a way to keep logs for a long time? I know that the backup erases each time I do a backup because I don't have an external drive. I guess I can copy the files from the passive side before I perform the backup.

Because when Windows backup runs it deletes he previous job. The only log I will have then are the current ones. I will not be able to recover older files if needed. Am I right on this.
