I would like to make a exchange server live , so that we can receive the mails from outside as well as we can send the mails out side.
Here I made some steps , can any one suggest if I miss something or if i am wrong in any steps
1. Purchase the a domain name ( xyz.com ) from any hosting service provider ( godaddy.com or 1n1.com )
2. Create A Record and DNS record for that domain.
3. Point the SMTP address of my local office static IP configured in my router in hosting page.
4. Open port 25 in my router and forward it to my exchange server
5. Configure the domain inside the exchange server
6. Take the SMTP sending service from third party provider
7. Configure it in send connector
8. Configure receive connector
9. Configure the DNS record in local DC
10. Check the mail traffic
Thanks,
Hello
sorry but why need third party provider for send email?
Create MX record point to A record
need accepted domain and email address policy config in exchange
for internal/external client need config internal and external url config /autodiscover, ews and so.../
if have virusscan ned exclude exchange config files/map and port 25
if have own CA server need change certificate on exchange server to own cert.
after all done check server with https://testconnectivity.microsoft.co
Hello,
4. Open port 25 in my router and forward it to my exchange server: You need to open port 443 also. This is required for outlook web access, auto discovery etc.
5. Configure the domain inside the exchange server: This is not required. Just create the internal domain (don't create dns entries pointed to the external system etc..Just wanted to create domain like domain.local). Configure the router IP as
the gateway so that any request from internal server can go directly to internet
6. Take the SMTP sending service from third party provider: This is also not required. What you wanted to do is create A record like mail.domain.com, autodiscover.domain.com and any hit should go to the exchange server.
This is basically for one of my client.
We do have domain hosting service with "Google Apps" but now we want to host the same service with our exchange server.
Can anyone tell me , how can i stop the Google Apps services completely and configure the settings in my exchange server.
Thanks,
Hi,
I have created a blog post to show how you can use a free tool (websitepanel) to build an Exchange Hosting setup here: http://exchangeonline.in/website-panel-2-1-exchange-2013/
Hello
1. Purchase the a domain name ( xyz.com ) from any hosting service provider ( godaddy.com or 1n1.com )
2. Create A Records and DNS record for that domain. /smtp.domain.com, autodiscover.domain.com, mail.domain.com/
3 Create MX record to point to A record /smtp.domain.com/
3. Point the SMTP address of my local office static IP configured in my router in hosting page.
4. Open port 25 and 443 in my router and forward it to my exchange server
5. Configure the domain inside the exchange server /accepted domain, email address policy/
7. Configure it in send connector
8. Configure receive connector
9. Configure the DNS record in local DC
10. Check the mail, activesync, outlook anyhwhere traffic
https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/
11. if all check green
12. test with test client /inside, outside/
13. test exchange db restore from backup
14. need send to all partner /email/ to change email domain from google.com to new domain.com
15. config client outlook to google and exchange acc
16. config activesync to users
17. copy from google to exchange mailbox all email with outlook
18. config all google mailbox to Forwarding new emailaddress
19. instruct user to use exchange acc to send all email
20. about 1 week check how many email coming to gmail and how many to new domain and deceid when disable google email.
BUT I don't know how many users have if only 10-20 user, you can do manually if large number users have you need other way
