message tracking log search can find that the mail is deliverd to user mailbox?
We use Exch2003Org which consits of several Exch2003 servers.
I thought , by system manager message tracking log , I can find that the mail is delivered to user mailbox till today.
When I search by message tracking log tool , I specify Exchange server that user mailbox exsits till today.
I thought I need to specify server that user mailbox exsits till today.
But I found that if I specify other server that user mailbox exists , the message tracking tool return the result of test maill and the result differ if I change server to specify by message tracking tool.
I firstly add new smtpaddress to mail, proxyaddresses, targetaddress, but NDR was returned.
Sencondly I delete and add smtpaddress again by ADUC as usual way.but Mail loop happen between Mailbox server(Exchange) and mailgateway(non-Exchange) .
So now, I am not sure how to know the test mail is delivered to user mailbox and how to add/modify mail address properly.

Track by the message-id and start the search on the mailbox server.

What sort of confirmation are you seeking? If the tracking log says
the message was delivered to the mailbox then it was delivered to the
mailbox.

Thank you.
We have several Exch Org.
Sometime we migrate mailbox accross ExchOrg.
When migration we send mail to user and I would like to know test mail is delivered to user mailbox in Exchange server.
1. Do I have to specify Exchange server that user mailbox exist in message tracking tool ?
2. If message is discoved by message tracking tool , it mean it is deliverd to user mailbox in Exchange ?

Yes, to begin the tracking. But the tracking will only take you to the
point where the message leaves the originating organization. You have
to move the message tracing to the target organization to discover
whether the message was placed in the mailbox.
>2. If message is discoved by message tracking tool , it mean it is deliverd to user mailbox in Exchange ?
Not always. Messages can be sent beyond the boundaries of the Exchange
organization. Messages can be returned as undeliverable. Messages can
be intercepted by anti-virus software. Messages can be sent to a
distribution group. Messages can be sent to mail-enabled public
folders.
The purpose of the message tracking logs is to show you the progress
of the message from the time it was submitted. What events are
recorded determine what took place.
