I just installed Microsoft office via HUP but none of the programs will launch, the initial screen appears then a window appears with program stopped working.Please advise a solution.

This issue may be caused if the installation is corrupted, please try to repair Office from Control Panel -> Programs and Features, check if the problem persists.

We may also suspect that some 3rd-party programs conflict with Office programs, please perform a clean boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with Office.

If the problem persists, I suggest you check the event logs to find the possible cause:

Press Win + R, type "eventvwr" in the blank box, press Enter. In the Event Viewer, expand Windows Logs -> Application. There may be some entries for Office, you can send the logs to us for analysis.

Melon is right, you need a clean install of the Microsoft Office for accessing its tools.
