microsoft outlook email settings
I have recently received a laptop for work which was previously set up for an exchange service account, but I need to reconfigure it for a pop email account. I try to open Outlook and the following error message appears... unable to open your default e-mail folders. The file is not an offline folder file. I tried to follow the where the location of the file was to change the default folder, but I can't get to it. I've tried re-installing and it hasn't worked.I've tried going to theControl Panel to find a mail folder and couldn't find anything. Please help! Thanks.

There is no Mail icon at all in the Control Panel? Can you switch the Control Panel to "classic view" and look for the Mail icon? You should be able to launch the Mail control panel applet and then show the profiles and delete all of the existing profiles.

Dear customer: What version is your client computers operation system? Is it Windows XP or Vista? If it is Windows XP, click control pane, and check whether you can see switch to classic view, if so, click it, and click mail, and then click show profile, delete the problematic profile, and recreate a new profile via Outlook and configure it as POP3 accounts. And check the effect. For more information about how to create Outlook profile, please refer to the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829918 How to create a new e-mail profile in Outlook 2007 and in Outlook 2003 If above steps cant resolve the issue, please send the screenshot of the error to v-rocwan@microsoft.com for analyze. Hope it helps. If anything is unclear, please feel free to let me know. Note: When you send e-mail to me, please add the subject of the post. Thanks for your cooperation. Rock Wang - MSFT
