move of exchange server, new ip - will it be an issue?
Ok first off no expert at VM's or AD/Exchange but I have been dumped in the driver seat. Ok need to move 4x virtual machine sessions to another host. This means new ips, anyhow here is the layout.AD/Exchange Server DNS/WINS (Server 2003 Exchange 2003 same box)3x mailstore vmsServer 2003 WebServer2x xp workstations Ok once i get these boys to a new location I'm going to be using Vmware server (politics lack of cash at this time, been through why we should use payed versions it's not going to happen) Once I have the VM's installed using the same format they came from (drive partitions etc) what should i expect when changin ips within VM and Windows OS systems.Default gateway and DNS will need to change, will AD/Exchange have any issues with this? I'm pretty sure AD will be ok but I'm not sure how exchange will handle the change of IP (even though its held on the domain controller) Any other issues i should be aware of when moving. Thanks Steve (in for a long weekend)

Exchange servers can change IP. after change, be sure to check the information in DNS, other things to look at is if there is a ny services that is bound to the old IP. Services could be websites, SMTP connectors etc.
