multiple domains
Is it possible to have exchange run two separate domains at the same time? for example: user@company1.com will log onto the exchange server via a popaccountwith user@company1.com and their password, in which they can receive all emails sent to user@company1.com and reply under the same email account. that user can then at the same time log onto the same exchange server in a new pop account under user@company2.com and send and receive emails via user@company2.com. I understand the outlook side of this all, as it would just see it as two separate pop accounts, and I understand setting up the dns to forward both domains to the same exchange server. What I dont know how to do (if it is even possible) is set the exchange server up to run two different, and separate domains. I read the article "how to receive messages from two SMTP domains in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. Article ID : 289833 This didnt answer the question, as this indicated that all emails sent to company1.com and company2.com would merge into one default account, and send from that default domain. i need it to be able to send and receive emails from both domains, depending on which company they wish to send it from (or send it to)

That article is the right one to start with. As far as your 'sent from' concerns there is one caveot, and that is that each account can have only one "primary" SMTP address (which is the one that gets stamped as the from address when it is sent). One way to work around this issue would be to have 2 user accounts (one with a primary in each domain) and than grant the "send as" privilage so that a user can send as either. Erik
