new AD user needs access to old / other exchange mailbox
Hi all, I have been asked to set up a new user in AD but there is a question i am not sure about. The user needs access to another users mailbox as his primary mailbox in outlook, for example, userNew needs to user userOld's mailbox as the default / primary mailbox in outlook 2007. Can this be done? Thanks

Does the other user still need to access their mailbox? If not, you could disable the mailbox and then connect it to userNew. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123490.aspx The mailbox would be the primary mailbox for userNew. If the other user still needs it, you could grant Full and Send As rights on that mailbox to userNew. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996343.aspx Here, the user would have two mailboxes in Outlook (for example). Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. When you grant a user the Full Access permission for a mailbox, that user has full access to only the mailbox for which the permissions are applied. With the Full Access permission, the user can open and read the contents of the mailbox. And you can grant the Send As and Receive As permissions by the Add-ADPermission cmdlet accordingly.Noya Lau TechNet Community Support

userNew needs to user userOld's mailbox as the default / primary mailbox in outlook 2007 you need to give both "Full Access permission" & "Send as" permission for access another user's mailbox like default right click old user's mailbox in exchange console, you will get both the options here. kesav
