office on RDS

Hi all,

I have asked all my support folk to help me out and Im getting nowhere.

I have created a RDS server (2008r2) and gotten licences, everything works fine.

Now I would like to make available regular office products (2010 or 2013 word, excel, etc..).  I have been trying to figure it out myself but am getting nowhere as far as what to buy and how to licence it.  I am not interested in office 365 at this point, so if some can help me out that would be great.

Hi Peter,

To deploy Office in a Remote Desktop Services environment, you will have to get a volume license agreement first from Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center.

Licenses for Office Professional Plus 2013, Office Standard 2013, and Office 365 ProPlus are available through Volume Licensing.

For Office 2010, you can choose Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 or Microsoft Office Standard 2010.

You can refer to this Buyer's Guide to find licensing-related information: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/office.aspx#tab=1

For more information about RDS licensing, I would suggest you consult with an authorized reseller in your area.

Hello,

I confirm Ethan's answer that only with Office purchased through volume licensing contrcats can you install it on the terminal Server with RDS CALs for each user or device wants Access to Office on RDS Environment.

it means that each device have Access to RDS Server needs a Office stdandard or pro plus purchased in VL.

since September 2014 is possible to use Office 365 plans includes Office pro plus (O365 pro plus, E3 and E4) for installing on th eRDS Server with Computer shared activation without to purchase a separate Office 2013 pro plus in VL.

thanks
