offline defragmentation
we have exchange 2003 with edb and stm in one drive and log files in another drive. How can i do offline defragmentation??

Hi,
Dismount the database and run eseutil is how you do offline defragmentation:

Remember that users will have no access to their mailboxes during the defragmentation and that it can take several hours (depending of the size of the database).
Any reason for running this defragmentation (white space inside the store will be used before the database expands again)??

Hi Joseph,
Any updates?
If you are running Exchange 2003 enterprise edition , you can create a new database and move mailboxes into it to reclaim the whitespace.
