out of office working randomly
i am using exchange 2007, mailbox in cluster, hub transport in nlb.
the exchange out of office work randomly, some user did receive the OOF but not for some.
i have this incident.
2 mail send to the mailbox with OOF from the same sender, time different by 15 minutes.
the second mail has reply with OOF, shouldn't it be the first mail.
both mail are just simple emails without attachment.
any idea, why the first mail did not reply OOF.

Hi tommy,
Could you please confirm:
How many mailboxes with OOF has the issue(some senders will not receive the OOF message and second mail has reply with OOF)?
Please run the cmdlet Test-OutlookWebServices and run EXBPA to see whether there is any error message:

Hi Tommy,
Could you please check whether the mails sent on second day are hit in the recipient's mailbox(with OOF)?
Please try to use Message Tracking to see where the mails are going:
Just select the Start and End day, then sort by the TimeStamp.

Hi Tommy,
Did you setup NLB for HUB recently and then OOF problem got started ?. What about if you send mail from internet and get OOF (turn on OOF for external sender) and test it.Anil

Please check your autodiscover settings. Hold ctrl and hit the outlook icon on your task bar. There should be a "test e-mail autoconfiguration" option. That should give you some logs to work with. In addition, please look at

My co-worker, who is also the IT person for our office, is working on my laptop. A couple of months ago there were issues with the hard drive and he replaced it.
