outlook 2003 stays in disconnected state
Hi there,I have a few laptop users who keep getting disconnected from our exchange 2007 server and they stay in that state until i restart the information store service. I have tried everything on the local clients (profiles, complete reinstall, etc) but nothing has helped. the ONLY way i know of to fix this is to restart the service. Nobody else is experiencing this and i have other laptop users with no problems.i have read something about the number of connections (limit of 10), but that doesn't make a whole lot of sense since a reboot does not fix the issue. If a laptop reboots, all the connections should be disconnected, i would think.does anybody have any ideas? Also is there any way to view all current connections on the exchange server 2007? cmdlets or something?thanks

You could look at connections to your exchange server with network monitor or netstat -a. As far as the disconnect state, is there anything in the client sync logs or event view app logs on the client or the server? Is the server performing well? Also, is there anything in common with those clients (behind a certian firewall, or all on the same vlan?)?

i haven't looked at the event log yet, because i could simply restart the service and fix the issue, but it seems like it is happening more and more.nothing common other than that they are laptop users. netowrk setup is very simple. exchange is performing fine

Hi Dear, It seems that the outlook on your labtops reached the limit of the connection with your Exhange, because there area disconnectivty at your netwrok,as I think. may it can be hardware problem like switches..., or somthing related with the routing on your network, ( what is the Default Gateway for your labtop?). it happend for me before the same problem for one of our custemer, and the default gateway for theLabtopwas the firewal because it was replaced recently for new one. and after upgradingthe framework for the Firewall , the problem is solved. You can do somthing to check the connectivity between your labtop and the Exchange server Just Excute this command from thecmd Prompt and then ping your Exchange . For Example : ping 10.10.10.1 -t Then check if there are Request timed out. As i thing the problem not related with the Exchange server. Regards, Ayman
