outlook 2007 keeps loosing connection with exchange 2007
I am running windows 2008 enterprise and exchange 2007 enterprise. The problem I am having is that the outlook client will sometime show that is lost connection to the server. It will take about 30 to 60 seconds to re-connect. I have a very small network so and I am not running anything such as OWA. Is there a setting either on the server or in outlook that can keep this from happening?

There's not a lot to go on in your post, but connectivity issues like you describe are very often caused by problems with your network, however it could almost literally be caused by anything between the workstation and the Exchange database storage. You might consider running Performance Monitor on the server to start looking for potential culprits.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi, Additionally, you could verify which connection is down to cause this issue by pressing Ctrl+right click Outlook icon in System Tray, select Connection Status. Thanks AllenAllen Song

Check if there is any IP conflict with the client. Is your Exchange server also your DC, file, print server, etc?

That all looks good. Could it be the outlook profile. This is only happening to a few so its hard to track down. There are no errors on the swith port that the server is using and the performance counters on the server look good.

I imagine it could be the profile. It wouldn't hurt to create a new profile and see if it fixes the issue.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

I also heard that there may be a setting in the switch or router that may need to be tweeked. Have you heard of this? Thanks
