Running on Windows 7 home premium, I've been using office 2013 professional for about two months, with three mail accounts, all using POP3.
A couple of weeks ago outlook started having trouble sending mail - all messages are stuck in the outbox for long periods of time - whenever I restart outlook or send/receive It seems to be sending some messages but stops at "SENDING MESSAGE XX OF YY" and stays there forever - no error messages.
Three or four times some of the messages did get sent - either after much fiddling or at a random time.
All is checked and fine with my internet provider and email servers
When checking the settings in outlook (different settings for three different mail boxes from two different sources) the test works fine - a test email is sent and received.
I found a hidden read receipt message also stuck, removing it didn't change anything.
Outgoing mail scanning by the antivirus program (AVG) is disabled. I ran full virus scans from two different programs (AVG, HOUSE-CALL).
I re-installed office. Trying to uninstall Office before re-installing didn't work because I "do not have sufficient permission to update win.ini" (although running as administrator). So I re-installed without uninstalling - with no effect at all.
Using outlook in SAFE MODE at first worked - messages got sent. I therefore disabled all add-ins, but that didn't solve the problem for the regular outlook.
And now, for no apparent reason, outlook/safe has stopped sending or receiving mail - pressing send/receive causes no reaction at all. SHOW PROGRESS shows no tasks - neither send nor receive.
I'm out of solutions, can anyone help?
THANKS, Eli
