I'm using outlook 2010.

I wish to set a rule for the following scenario:

I have received an E-mail to my inbox.

I'd like to keep this email in my inbox folder for period that I will be able to set.

once the period which I've set has completed I'd like the email automatically forwarded to a specific folder.

There is not a direct rule for this purpose in Outlook.

However, you can create a search folder that shows messages from a specific period of time.

From the description, you want to create an Outlook rule to move inbox emails to subfolders after a period of time, correct? I'm afraid there is no such Outlook rule supports what you are trying to do.

As a workaround, you can try achieving the goal via macro. Just for your reference:

You can use a 3rd party rule add-in to do this. It has a specific type of rule that scans messages after a period of time in your inbox. The product is called Auto-Mate Pro by Pergenex.
