password apperas
Outlook 2013 icm with sbs 2007 Exchange
In outlook there are 4 mailboxes which i open with one exchange user, the user has the owner rights for all the mail boxes.
By opening outlook 2013 the mailboxes are working, but the the password prompt for the user appears continuously, it is possible to send and receive mail for all the users
outlook 2010 and 2007 are working fine.
I hope someone has a fix for this problem.

What does the prompt look like, does it mention any server name, autodiscover, etc? Do the prompts appear at regular intervals, or only when starting Outlook or? Does the "remember credentials" checkbox work and have you checked if the credentials
are indeed stored in Credentials manager?

Hello,
Thank you for the reply,
The prompt is in a small pop-up, its mentioning my domain e-mail address in the header, but my username@domain
address in the account box. After entering either the domain-address with correct password or
the e-mail-address with correct password the pop-up disappears and appears again within seconds.
Only the cancel button helps, the pop-up disappears for some time.
in Credentials manager the domain
address is added, that is the domain for all the mail boxes
The mail works, all the mail for the different users ican be received and send

Hi,
Based on your description, Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 are working fine. This issue just occurred on Outlook 2013. So there is no problem with certification in Exchange. Please check the following account settings in outlook.
- Open Control Panel, go to Mail and click
E-mail account.
- Double-click on that Exchange user account, make sure Server name and
User Name are correct then click More Settings.
- Under Connection tab, make sure check the box Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP then click
Exchange Proxy Settings
- Make sure you have checked the boxes On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP
and On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP, check the Authentication with
Basic Authentication (or NTLM Authentication)
- Under Security tab, uncheck the box Always prompt for logon credentials.
- Click apply and OK. On Server Settings interface, click on
Check Name to make sure Server name and User name again.
- Click next to apply this change.
If this issue persists, please let me know.
Best regards.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply, i have made the changes and used your settings.
I assume the proxy address must be the server address of my exchange server.
After i made the change there was and error, "something went wrong getting the app settings from the catalog"
( i hope my translation is ok) which i ignored.
The new settings didn't help, outlook still asks for the password.

Hi,
What are you doing?
1: in Outlook go to the Account Settings and then more settings. On advanced tab add the additional mailbox.
2: Add differrent mailboxes on account settings.
I prefer option 1.

Maybe it are cashed credentials?
Go to control panel, and search for credential manager, delete all domain credentials.

Could you search in the event log on the pc if there are any related events. Maybe also check this on the exchange server?

I have no idea where to search for what, i know where to find the event logs, but i don't know how i can recognize this error.

Hi, ecesecurity.
Error something went wrong by getting the app settings from the catalog could be the key to solve this issue.
Please try to run Outlook under safe mode to check this issue. To do this, go to your Start screen in Windows 8 or click Start > Run in Windows 7, and type the following command: outlook /safe and press Enter to start Outlook 2013.
Please try to disable Anti-Virus software to check this issue.
Thanks,
Best Regards.

Hi Lynn-Li,
Running in safe mode makes no difference, outlook still prompts the password box and the error something
went wrong by getting the app settings from the catalog still appears when changing the account settings.
There is no antivirus active on the computer with Windows 7

Please, Anyone who knows how to solve this problem?
Password popup is still appearing at random and is so annoying.

Go to control panel, and search for e-mail.
Make a new profile and setup this. If any certificate popup is loading, install that certificate on the pc. Make the new profile as default for outlook and test again.

Hi Richard,
those mailboxes you have added, are they shared mailbox or user mailbox?
Popup can also be related to password is expiring within 14 days.
Please run the following cmd command (With domain Admin account)
net user username /domain.
If password expires is within 14 days for any of those accounts, please resett password.

Hallo,
Sorry for late reply, due to sickness and vacation i was not online for some time.
The extra mailboxes are user mailboxes from a exchange server.
Password does not expire for any off the users.
