Hello, First i would likt to say hello to everyone. I plan AD with Exand i am at starting point. I would like to have quite good plan with good net security, so ... i drawn my new network where you can find: in LAN: - First DC w2k3 ent r2 (i do knot know what domain use - my global company.com or local company.local) - Additional DC with Ex 2003 St Backend (i do not know if Ent be better - i have 40 user) in DMZ: - Server W2k3 end r2 with Ex 2003 Frontend Firewall will be cisco. First DC | Internet-------firewall---------+--------- Add. DC with Ex Backend |dmz Server Exchange Frontend Company has not brach offices, it is one location with about 40 users. is my plan OK? What i have to change? How to estimate mailoboxies size for 40 users? My presen net has firewall and mail server on Linux (postfix) so i do not have to migrate. i build my network AD + EX from beginning but i have to remember aboout DNS for out global domain company.com How to change present DNS (BIND, it is in DMZ)? I read that is better to set .local domani in LAN by configure Ex for global domain company.com. but other say that al should be global company.com. how to choose? what are disadv every solution? if you can help me with some tips i will be verygratefull Best Regards

Hi, Few things to point it out. If possible, place Exchange in a member server. DR and maintenance will be better. Second thing, rule of thumb, do not place Exchange in a DMZ, instead, use ISA server to publish it to the Internet. For DNS, you should always use AD DNS as the internal DNS resolution. For External, you can use back your BIND if you want to. 2 cents. Cheers CLPoo
