pop3 not working internally, only outside
hi all,
i have a mac user that use pop3 to connect to exchange 2003, all is well until my firewall hungup. I did connect directly our gateway window server to the internet but i have to ask mac user to use internal ip instead of using external ip (or internet
ip). but my boss doesn't like the idea of switching multiple times since many of our user wants to open email from home too. how can i translate my gateway on pop3 (port 110) to go internal routing all though it's pointing to the internet ip?
Is that possible?
thanks for any comment you may add.

Hi Arnie,
Could you explain your problem in detail? More information about your environment.
From your description, this may a network issue, if you want the email go routing from the firewall, you can do something on the firewall (that
can make emails send to an Internal IP address).

How is your DNS setup is it using split brain? For example his mail profile should typically be using the DNS name mail.company.com 110. When he's n the network it resolves to the internal IP when he's outside the network he resolves to the external
IP.
