Hi All on friday 11th i lost my priv1.edb plus stm data files with out a trace. they were there one minute and disappeared the second , tried file recovery etc etc but no luck. i did manage to recover emails from a month old backup, but now i have a gap of one month and some people in my office are not happy with it. i would like to know if it is possible for me to get those emails for the missing month by using log files. as i do have log files. will they sync with the priv1.edb if i just copy them across to the folder of exchange will it help. or if there is any other solution i will really appreciate it. please help. thank you Zeeshan

Primary reason for the files to go missing like that is Antivirus not setup correct and quarantines the files. Symantec AV is notorious for doing that. If you have the log files, then you do a restore of the Exchange database, then the logs should replay in to the database. Have you done a restore of the database? If not, then that is the first thing to do. The usual thing I suggest though is that in a DR scenario that you call Microsoft support and get them involved. That will give you the best opportunity of getting data back. Before you do anything though, take copies of everything, so that you have additional chances to replay data.
