problems connecting to exchange 2003 from branch office
Hi all, Here is my problem: I have working Exchange 2003 (E1) at one site (S1), and I set up a sbs 2003 server (S2) at our second branch. Details: S2: only dhcp and dns has been setup, not joined to any domain yet, awaiting site-site vpn hardware still S2 has 2 NICs: 1st -> external -> ip: static IP provided by ISP, this goes through ISP router to get internet 2nd -> internal -> connected to wireless AP, dhcp set up on this NIC S1: system behind a checkpoint utm1 edge firewall This config gives me internet, but for some reason my users cannot use the Exchange email (any form of it) if they are connected through S2 to the internet. Gmail works fine. This setup worked 2 weeks ago, but then we got a new static IP for S1 from ISP, and then the problems came in. The funny thing is that if the users switch to other internet (ie, internet dongle with internet from a cellphone company), the emails work... so I would think the problem is with my ISP and some DNS record not pointing to the right mail.company.com... but this might just be me :P The following link is how my server has been set up for internet connection: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/smallbusinessserver/thread/aa9d33b1-7466-4c82-9c23-d4d93a724e42 Any help or reading material would be appreciated :) Regards, Grommenoster

Hi Grommenoster, As Gulab mentioned, please first talk with your ISP and make sure there's no problem in their side.Rowen TechNet Community Support

Yes, you are correct, the problem is with my ISP and some DNS. Name record not pointing to the right mail.company.com or taking longer time to update new IP address details to DNS server.
