/public folder gone in Exchange 2007 after removing/adding CA Role
OK background. The mail server in question was originally running Exchange 2003 Remote clients connected with Office XP, Office 2003 AND Entourage 2004 for the Mac users. Upgraded to Excahnge 2007 and everything has been running fine. A couple of days ago there was an issue were OWA just stopped working. No errors just no OWA mail. Couldn't connect in through the web client, no one got any mail on devices or on Macs...to make a long story short I found an article saying to remove the CA Role, delete anything folders left(including the Public virtual directory) and add the CA role back to Exchange. No problem. Worked like a champ. OWA was back up, everyone in the office could connect. Everyone running a Windows phone could get email. Everyone was happy...except the Mac users. I checked and of course...the public folders weren't recreated and I'm understanding that Entourage 2004 connects using the old 2003 method and is expecting that /public folder and all it's "goodies" intact. HELP! How do I get my public folder back?! Please tell me there's a solution besides rebuilding a 2003 machine, upgrading to 2007 then restoring the databases... I don't think with my explanation that I need to say that I'm not an Exchange pro...but I'm all we have here. And the Mac users are getting rowdy! Well, rowdy for Mac users. Thank you

Hi Ed, Well, I have applied that command and will let you know if it worked on Monday when all the mac users(and me) are back in the office. I'm very hopeful. Thank you so much for your response. I had to add a parameter in -OwaVersion:Exhange2003or2000 for it to allow me to specify the type. But, I'm thinking you may have left that out to encourage me to read the article you linked. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I thought this was on a different hotmail account so I just logged in and saw this reply. Thanks again and I will be sure to mark this as the answer if it works! Best regards, Jason
