purge bulk messages
Over 1 million messages in inbox that was generated from an alert. The messages reside in a folder under cabinet\alerts. All the alert email messages come from same source sender@abc.com with subject: Dev:\system
failure etc...
What and how can i purge these messages. When the client deletes messages it removes the messages a little at a time. What tools and what has to be setup to purge these messages based on a certain criterea?

As Tim said it will help if you provide the Exchange version and Service pack level that you have
From Outlook you could do a Select All and then hold down the Shift Key and Press Delete. This will do a hard delete i.e. items will not be moved into the deleted items folder but they will be deleted. However, that said the items are still
ruled by your deleted item retention setting on the Exchange Server, i.e. they are technically recoverable until the retention period passes.
