question about receiving emails off the domain
Hi, I have exchange server 2003 setup so that all mail is delivered directly to our server and sent from our server. My question is, is there a way to configure a users laptop that have outlook 2003 to get the email when not in the office connected to the domain? Without using VPN's and such? Basically is there a way to setup a pop account on the users laptop that grabs it from our exchange server?

Outlook and Exchange 2003 support RPC over http. which means you don't need a vpn to securely access outlook while on the internet and have full functionality. This is by far the best option. Exchange server does also support pop3 and imap, but there is little reason to use them when the above is so great. *the above does not work with windows 2000
