recurring calendar items disappear in Outlook
Hi everybody We have the problem described in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958781/en-us But we use Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2003/2010. Does anybody know if there is the same hotfix for Exchange 2010? Thanks for the help.

Hello, Unfortunately, there is no related hotfix for Exchange 2010. Firstly, please make sure the symptom matches the following description: when a user uses Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync on a mobile device to modify a recurring meeting, some recurring calendar items disappear from the "Day/Week/Month" view in Outlook. However, they can still be seen in the "By Category" view. If you try to open the calendar items in the "By Category" view, you receive the following error message: Can't open this item. Cannot locate recurrence information for this appointment. If the symptom you encounter is different, please let me know the details. For a quick solution, we can try republishing the free/busy information by: Log on problematic user in Outlook by running “Outlook /cleanfreebusy” to start the Outlook. Thanks, Simon

Hi Simon The symptom matches exactly the description. Unfortunately, our CEO has this problem. He really often uses his cell phone with active sync and he has many calendar entries. Because of that, it's normally our CEO that discovers problems. But that can also be a good thing. I try to catch him the next time he is at our site to start Outlook with the cleanfreebusy option. Regards Fabian
