one of my mailbox server wasn't shutdown gracefully many times and now is offline. something happened to the networking part.

question is: do i need to remove the server from DAG and AD if i want to reinstall it? (keeping the same server name).

thanks. just have one question: after i reset the computer account, do i reinstall Windows first before running Exchange recover?

edit: the mailbox server's network interface somehow is not working. it is showing up "disconnected" although the network is up with correct ip address. it's a virtual machine.

hi,

mailbox server network connections are not working. if i open properties of network connections, it takes several minutes. there is no network connection (no ping to other servers, no ping from other servers to this mailbox server) even when network icon shows connected.

so i think that part of Windows is corrupted. now i'm going to rebuild mailbox server. have already reset the computer account, removed mailbox server from DAG.

i found this link last night http://msexchangeteam.in/exchange-server-2013-disaster-recovery/#comment-7486 so i will NOT disjoin the mailbox server. i will  reformat and reinstall Windows then do setup /recoverserver .
