remove hidden folders
Exchange 2003 SE.I noticed while running pfdavadmin on users mailboxes that there are several folders under users that go back to our previous voice mail system. We switched over to a new system, and it appears that folders created by the old system did not remove. These folders are above the top of information store. On the same level as Common views, deferred actions, etc. If I run the MAPI editor, I don't see those folders. I see ~MAPISP(Internal), Common Views, Drizzle, Finder. The Search, fax, deleted fax, and other folders created by the old voice mail system are not listed. I just noticed this, and it does not appear to be hurting anything, but there is mail in these folders, which is listed in the items tab of PFDADAMIN. I have often been asked by users why there mailboxes had so many items, I suspect this is the reason why. Is there a safe way to remove those folders? We went to a new system about three years ago. Employees that were hired after we went to the new system do not have the extra folders listed. Any thoughts would be appreciated.BW

Hi,Normally MFCMapi should show all the folders available inside mailbox. Aren't you able to see in MFCMapi? Well, I'd refer the document of older voice mail system(if available) to find out the list of folders created by it OR compare one of the normal user account and a older user account to find out foldersand start with a non critical or unused old account to see the effect in Outlook/OWAif I delete those folders.Amit Tank || MVP - Exchange || MCITP - Exchange 2007 || http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
