I need a piece of software, that will let me repair most or all of the data in a corrupted word document (.doc or .docx file). I don't need to hear .doc vs .odt... because these files are already corrupted in the .doc/.docx format, and I'd like to be able to recover at least some of the data. I tried to run WordRepair (a free windows tool), but the open dialog wouldn't find any documents. I'd like something, if possible. Thanks!

Microsoft word processor program has many file formats but it mostly use .doc and .docx format. The extension, .doc is used in Word 97 and its earlier versions for Windows & Word 98. Later versions of Windows and Mac OS saves word file in .docx extension.
