just a quick question on resource mailboxes on exchange 2007 sp3. I have created some room mailboxes, and wanted to know what the default access users have on these mailboxes. I have enabled autoaccept so they can book the meeting toom mailboxes. But by default can users view the calendars or do they have to be given access. And if they need to be given access is just read access they need. Also by default can they modify their own bookings, or can then just cancels meeting by going through the meeting requests.

By default they have no access to the mailboxes. They can see free-busy data (that is on by default) and they can send meeting requests to them (every mailbox is open to received mail by default) and since you configured autoaccept, the mailboxes should return acceptances or denials as appropriate. If you want everyone to be able to view the calendars, simply change the Permission Level (a.k.a. Role) for "Default" to Reviewer. If you grant them folder rights to edit their own items, what they can do is change dates and times of meetings, essentially bypassing the autoacceptance system. The proper method is for them to change the meeting in their own calendar, which sends a meeting change request to the folder and the autoacceptance process handles it. Hi, User can check free/busy information from calander. If you want user to see all the events for resource mailbox, then you will need to grant permission to access resource mailbox. Organizer of the meeting can modify the meeting,update,cancel the meeting.
