restore public folders Exchange 2007
I recently lost my public folders. I was unable to restore all of the from a granular backup. The only think I can think of is to go to tape and restore from there. I have been reading post and understand that RSG are not possible.
Could I just restore to the original location? If I do this will I have to repair my database? I don't mind because I can just bring back what I have from the netbckup granular job again.
Thanks.

Yes you should be able to recover the public folder database only to the original location
No need to restore your mailbox database which is what it sounds like you were considering?
If you only lost a few folders from your PF db you could take it offline, copy it to an alternate location, recover over it from backup and then use Lucid8's DigiScope
http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp to open the offline copy and recover anything that is not in your recovered database NOTE: You
can get a DEMO license of DigiScope that
will allow you to open any mailbox or public folder database so that you can at least see if the information is within for recovery.

Hi Norman,
Did you try the steps to recover public folders in the below link?
How can I recover a deleted Public Folder in Exchange 2007?

Sure but before you do that I would ensure that you get a good backup of the current PF database in case you want to go back to it. As stated earlier I would also take it offline and get a flat file backup or copy of it case you decide you
want to use a 3rd party tool to review or recover data and as mentioned above you can get a DEMO license of DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp that
will allow you to open any mailbox or public folder database so that you can at least see if the information is within for recoveryTroy Werelius

Chase straight to the cause, Recover Exchange database without stressing your Organizational productivity to halt. Yes, while searching Google I came across
Exchange Recovery tool. This tool stands high on its promises as mentioned in their website isolating Exchange mailboxes even from corrupted EDB and export the same to Outlook PST files, deploying data over distributed client environments
