Mailbox was previously deleted and now it has been recreated although users who are replying back to older mail are getting the following message. The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address. <hades.pickron.local #5.1.1 smtp;550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found>

The fact that you have recreated the mailbox doesn't mean it is the same mailbox as far as Exchange is concerned. The internal reference that is used is different. Getting it to work will be quite hard, as you would have to recreate the X.400 address, but you have no idea what that is because the reference has been removed. It may well be best to just tell users to hit reply, delete the recipient and select them fresh from the GAL. A more useful question title would have been helpful as well. The NDR should come back with the legacydn format. If so you can add it back as a custom x500 address in their SMTP tab. EMC, properties user mailbox, email address tab, add custom address Email address: /O=ExchangeOrgName/OU=NY/cn=Recipients/cn=jdoe Email type: x500 The format that you will see in the NDR is in acsii format so you need to convert it to plain english like the example above to match whatever values you have.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Hi pjones1978, It is related with nk2 cache file, you also could delete the special account cache or delete the whole nk2 file on the client end. Regards!
