I get this error message when trying to install Exchange 2003 Enterprise CD to a Windows 2003 Standard server. I am building a test environment and have successfully used the same set of CDs to configure a back-end Exchane server already. Now, I am just trying to build the front-end Exchange server. Figured the problem myself. OS is 32bit and so is Exchange server version. The culprit was a bad optical drive. I was able to install Windows server with no problem. Not sure why it would not install Exchange. Replaced optical drive and we are back in business. Go figure!
