shared namespace
On a exchange 2003 (sp2) server, we have configured a shared authoritative namespace by filling in the field "forward all mail with unresolved recipients to" with the IP address (between brackets) of another SMTP host (in this case an ex 2007 server, also responsible for the same namespace). But the same virtual SMTP server is also configured to use a smarthost (delivery-advanced).
Now a mail in that namespace for a recipient that not exists, is not routed to the 2007 server, but to the configured smathost. Even though it is a resposable namespace. If I remove the "forward all mail.." config, then a NDR is produced while the recipient does not exist.
It looks like the two settings (forward and smarthost) cannot be used together.
Anybody knows this problem and is there a solution (without removing the smarthost setting..)??
Tnxs.

Hi,
Don't make these configurations on the SMTP virtuel server. They must be made on SMTP connectors, so create 2 connectors using the SMTP virtuel server with the 2 different settings.
