I was able to activate sbs but exchange says i only have 41 days left. when i try to use the sbs product code in exchange to activate it, its telling me its not a valid code.

Did you install Exchange with SBS? You shouldn't need to enter a key in to Exchange separately, I have never done so with any of the SBS 2011 systems I have installed.
