Does anyone know how to transfer the nickname/autocomplete file (used to be an .nk2 file in 2007) from Outlook 2010 to 2013? I have looked everywhere and cannot find an answer. I have like 10 of these Stream_autocomplete files. One person said to copy the one you want to transfer and rename the newest file the old file name but that did not do anything. PLEASE HELP!!
Hi,
It should be the Stream_Autocomplete_<string of numbers and letters>.dat file, you may follow the steps below to try again:
1. Close Outlook 2013.
2. Re-copy the autocomplete stream file from Outlook 2010 in place.(C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache)
3. Set the file to Read Only.
4. Open Outlook 2013.
5. Turn off Read Only.
6. Close Outlook 2013.
7. Relaunch Outlook 2013.
I hope this helps.

What do you mean by set to read only? Can you explain in detail step by step how to do it? Sorry, I am not very experienced at this stuff. See the screen shot below that I was trying to show earlier. I have a ton of these files but have highlighted the old and new
It wont let me add a picture until my account has been verified. I have office 365 small business premium and three subscriptions to regular 365 small business.
you can email me if you would like to rachel@southbayroofingllc.com

Hi,
By set to Read Only, simply right click on the file, choose Properties, select the Checkbox for Read-only, click OK.
"Turn off Read Only" is just the opposite way, clear the checkbox for Read-only then OK.
