unable to activate Office 2016 Preview
Hi, I cant activate Office 2016 Preview. I upgraded from Office 2010 and this version keeps saying I cant activate it but its the same account I have here so I'm not sure why its not activating? I cant preview/test it if I cant activate it.

So as this is a preview/trial/test I cant activate it?

Then why am I bothering to test it if I have to buy an older version?

I dont have to buy Windows 8 to use the preview of Windows 10 so why do I have to buy Office 2013 to preview Office 2016?

Hi,

Did you get the preview via Connect because that's the official channel to get the preview bits. Once registered you will get instructions how to install. There you will see that an upgrade is not an option. It should be a clean install and a Office365 subscription is needed to get it installed correctly. In the download section from Connect you will find all the details. I installed a clean version with no issues. So in short, upgrading from 2010 is not an option it needs a different key.

All office 2016 related stuff goes via Connect. Testers have to register first to receive the bits and installation instructions.
