Hi, 1. windows 2000 server native mode is least requirement on domain functional level, so update to 2008 native mode is optional. See here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719(EXCHG.80).aspx 2. please remove all trace of failed installation firstly, see here for how to do. 3. please check “Microsoft Exchange Anti-Spam Update” service, any error appear when you start the service. 4. please check setup log (c:\ExchangeSetupLogs) Services Installed by Exchange Setup

By default, IPV6 is enabled on a Windows 2008 server and you have disabled it in the network connections properties, but not fully. Solution is to enable IPV6 in NIC properties, but disable IPV6 in registry and re-run the setup. To disable IPV6 fully on the 2008 server. Follow the steps to do so. Launch registry, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters. In the details pane, click New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value. Type "DisabledComponents" (without quotes) and then press enter. Double-click DisabledComponents and type 0xffffffff in Hexadecimal or 4294967295 in Decimal. Close the registry editor. Now, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc and open the hosts file in notepad. Delete the IPV6 entry. or Please verify it by using KB 952842 Please follow Dvaid’s post in this thread to increase the Service Control Manager time-out value to 180000 The concern you have about configuration change of failed installation, I suggest that you shall see this article, the method in it suits for this issue Please also run Dcdiag” and “Netdiag”, see if there’s any further error info [dcdiag >dcdiag.txt | netdiag >netdiag.txt] Dinesh S.

Is the Server 2008 also a DC? If so, you need to install Exchange 2007 SP3.
