Hi,
The following OSs currently support both 32-bit or 64-bit editions of Office 2010:
-
Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 (SP1)
-
Windows 7
-
Windows 8
-
Windows Server 2008
-
Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2)
-
Windows Server 2008 R2
-
Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
-
Windows Server 2012
-
Terminal Server
-
Windows on Windows (WOW) which allows installation of 32-bit versions of Office 2010 on 64-bit operating systems, excluding Windows Server 2003, 64-bit and Windows XP, 64-bit.
As long as it is supported in Windows 8, it will most likely work in Windows 10.
Hello, I have been working on client computers who have upgraded from windows 8.1 to win10.
One client also has office 2010 on his machine. Word and Excel (I have not checked the other stuff) both seem to operate normally but hang and lose all data if you try to save a document.
I uninstalled and then re-installed office 2010 using windows 10. This had no effect, still same hang problem when you try to save something.
I ran them in administrator mode. This had no effect either, still hangs when you save something.
I have switched excel, word & PPT to run in compatibility mode using windows 7 settings. This did not fix it either as the same problem persists. The programs run normally until you try to save. Upon saving the program hangs and has to be shutdown with the task manager.
This indicates to me a serious problem with windows 10 and office 2010 compatibility.
I am hoping microsoft can resolve this problem quickly.
