windows shell common dll has stopped working (Windows8 Office 365)

Hi,

I have had Office 365 (64 bit) running on a WIndwos 8 install on a Parallels VM on MacBookPro for 3 months now with no problems .

Today, when it was archiving, it stopped responding, everything froze, so after 3 minutes I did a hard reboot. When I brought it back up, every time I opened Outlook, I'd get an error sequence - Safe / Repair / and finally no luck. When I looked at the Control Panel, and tried checking the Mail sub panel, it would open up, but if I hit any of the functions, up pops the message: windows shell common dll has stopped working

I've reinstalled, and every other Office program is working fine, but same problem on Outlook.

Suggestsion?

Please advise at your earliest convenience.
