word 2000 product key
I recently installed a new hard drive with windows xp, microsoft word wasn't installed with it (and I use word a lot) so I used my WORKS SUITE 2000 to install WORD, but when it came to entering the product key (which I do have) my product key only has 20 letter&numbers. Now everything I want to do (like getting PDF files) it auto opens the window asking for the product key, but will not accept mine when I put it in.
Has anyone had this problem? or does anyone have any solutions/advice on how to fix this ? other than having to buy another WORD product.
Thanks for any help!

Hi stella,
This is a forum for MS Exchange Server, I was unable to find a forum that was specific to MS Works or MS Word, however there is an Office discussion here http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?d=1
Also a few things I noticed reading your post:
-Word and Works are two different products if you are trying to use a key for Works on an install of Word or vice versa, it will not work. Double check your install cd and product key make sure they are for the same product.
-PDF files are read use a pdf reader such as Acrobat Reader by adobe, which is available free here: www.adobe.com
-If you are unable to get the key and install or word/works squared away you could look at OpenOffice, this is a free software product that performs most of the functions of the core MS Office suite, it is available free here: www.openoffice.org
