2008 R2 Windows update Access denied

(00000000) i also cannot start or stop the wuauserv.exe via the command line i receive System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied. I am logged into the server with a Domain admin account There is no WSUS server in the domain, there once was but it has been removed and the group policies have been altered. Can anyone help me!! I'm pulling my hair out and there isn't much left..

Hi Rusware, The error code 8007005 that you received when trying to check updates means access is denied. Please first check whether Domain Administrator group is a member of Domain Guests group. If so, please remove it from Domain Guests group. That will cause the permission issue. To resolve the problem, Please try the methods below. Method 1: Reset Windows Update components. Please follow the instructions described in the following KB article. Please make sure to backup the registry before you modify it in case any problem occurs.
